About me
Darla K. Deardorff is the Founding President of the World Council of Intercultural and Global Competence, a global nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect researchers, practitioners, students, and policymakers across cultures, countries, disciplines and languages to advance the understanding and praxis of intercultural and global competence. Darla is author/editor of 12+ books and 60+ chapters and articles and is frequently invited to speak around the world. She is also UNESCO Chair of Intercultural Competences at Stellenbosch University in South Africa and holds other faculty appointments at other institutions around the world. In addition, she is Executive Director of the Association of International Education Administrators, a non-profit organization serving university leaders globally. Her best known research resulted in the first research-based framework of intercultural competence.
