About me
Euan Mackway-Jones is a Programme Specialist at UNESCO where he leads research and provides technical assistance to advance evidence-based policy and practice to support the effective governance of complex social development issues, particularly in fragile or conflict-affected settings. Euan has also provided support to UNESCO's work on foresight and futures.
In the past, Euan has sat on the advisory board of one of the UK’s quickest growing youth-led non-profits, established a successful social enterprise, and led and advised numerous social action projects. He was recognised as a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and has previously held both a UNHCR Innovation Fellowship and a UnLtd Foundation Fellowship.
Euan holds a Master of Philosophy in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Arts (with honours) in History and Politics from the University of Warwick. He is also currently pursuing a Micromasters in Data, Economics and Development Policy at MIT. Euan has produced academic publications on topics as diverse as the application of systems thinking for the promotion of social inclusion; the identification of systemic risk within the water-conflict nexus; the use of collective intelligence processes to promote resilience under climate change; and the structural determinants of effective dialogue processes to help enhance community engagement, participation, and accountability.
